The John C. Wells Planetarium is open for school groups and free Saturday Shows for the entire month of May. Our last Saturday Show date will be on June 1st for the 2023-2024 school year. We will start taking reservations for school and community groups starting in August 2024. As always, the public is cordially invited to enjoy FREE Planetarium shows and star talks every Saturday until June 1, 2024.
Science Sunday for Girls has concluded for the 2023 - 2024 school year. Check back here in August to see when we start up again for Fall 2024. Science Sunday for Girls is always open to all and the public is cordially invited.
The James Madison University Star Parties have concluded for the 2023-2024 school year. We will start again in September for the 2024-2025 school year. All JMU Star Parties are family events and the public is cordially invited.
The John C. Wells Planetarium will start taking reservations for visits by school and community groups on weekday mornings for the 2024-2025 school year starting August 1, 2024. Please use the Reservations link to start setting up a trip to the Planetarium!
The John C. Wells Planetarium at James Madison University is a state-of-the-art hybrid facility which offers free Saturday public shows from early September through May (except during JMU Breaks), and is also available for use during the week by school groups and community groups by reservation.
