  • The 2024 Provost Award for Excellence in Research and Scholarship was awarded to Sergiy Dmytriyev, Assistant Professor of Business Management.
  • The Society for Human Resource Management chapter received a Superior Merit Award from SHRM for the 2022-2023 award cycle. Angela Heavey and Ruairi Walsh serve as advisors to the student chapter and are recognized for their guidance and counsel.
  • Assistant Professor Sergiy Dmytriyev earned first place for 2023's Basic or Discovery Publication Award.
  • Bill Ritchie earned second place for 2023's Teaching and Learning Publication Award.
  • Bill Ritchie and Eric Stark earned second place for 2023's Applied or Integration/Application Publications Award.
  • Assistant Professor, Sergiy Dmytriyev, the co-editor of the new book Humanizing Business: What Humanities Can Say to Business, which is a part of the Issues in Business Ethics series.  
  • JMU’s B.B.A. in business management with a concentration in human resource management is now aligned with the Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM) HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates, which means our students can waive the two-year work experience requirement that is normally required prior to taking the SHRM professional certification exam.
