Jane Goodman

Jane Goodman Bridge Painting

Jane Goodman hails from New England, where she grew up on Narragansett Bay, enjoying the salt air and the seashore. After earning her BA in Fine Arts from Connecticut College, she appeared on stage and in TV commercials. From there, Jane became Rhode Island's first state film commissioner. She then moved to Washington, DC, where she pursued jobs in communications and labor union issues, eventually retiring from the Federal Aviation Administration as a communications manager. She returned to Charlottesville, VA, where she now resides and maintains an art studio.

Artist Statement

Presently, her main objective is to paint joyous pictures of nature and the natural world, enjoying working outdoors (en plein air) and learning new mediums and techniques. Jane is a member of CoArt Gallery in Staunton and is currently also showing at Crozet Artisans Depot. She welcomes people to the studio but warns she may be out of the area with her easel and paints on any good day, during any season.
