You've entrusted James Madison University with your most valued treasure: your child. It's a role we take seriously. The Office of Parent Relations is here to partner with you in preparing your student to become an educated and enlightened citizen who will lead a productive and meaningful life.
Use this site to locate resources for parents and family members of JMU students and find information on the annual Family Weekend, Parents Council, send-off picnics, and other activities.
Have a student trying to get home? We can help with that. Planning a visit to JMU? We have information on that, too.
Keep in touch with what's happening at the university through JMU news, The Breeze, Madison magazine, and more. Parents also receive the Madison Family Connection e-newsletter.
JMU is changing the world — one person at a time. Learn about our mission, academic programs, national rankings, and get information on tuition and fees.
The Madison Experience is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will shape your student's life and future. As JMU welcomes your sons and daughters, the university extends the same warm invitation to you as parents. To help you find your own place in the Madison Experience and to "follow along" as your child begins this important life transition, the Office of Parent Relations has assembled a handbook to guide you through the next four years. You too, are a part of Madison. You, as well as students, the faculty and staff, and alumni ... together ... enrich your student's total Madison Experience. So welcome to James Madison University.

Immerse yourself in the Madison Experience and join other JMU parents and families for a special weekend on campus during one of Harrisonburg's most beautiful seasons. Family Weekend is your opportunity for a taste of campus life. Visit your son's or daughter's campus home, talk with university staff members, attend a class or presentation, tour campus, attend a concert and cheer on the Dukes to victory. Sorry, football tickets are sold out for this event. Bring the whole family.
