(interfax) The National Association for Humanitarian Demining has launched operations in Ukraine, aiming to clear territories of explosive objects efficiently. Key objectives include collaborating with stakeholders, enhancing legal support, improving training standards, and raising public awareness. The association plans to establish a professional standard for Humanitarian Mine Deminers and amend Ukrainian laws on mine action.

Deputy Economy Minister highlights the initiative's significance for developing a mine clearance market, supported by Ukrainian businesses. Japan pledges support, offering expertise and equipment transfer. The Defense Ministry reports 950 casualties from explosive devices since the Russian invasion, underlining the urgent need for humanitarian demining efforts in Ukraine.
