UPDATE: Construction blasting to occur near W. Grace St.

Construction crews at James Madison University will conduct periodic blasting over the course of the next two weeks in conjunction with the University Services Building Annex project.  The blasting will occur on the site of the former Rockingham Cooperative building on West Grace Street.

Blasting scheduled for Thursday, June 23 has been canceled due to weather.  Blasting has been rescheduled for Friday, June 24 at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.  Project managers anticipate that blasting will occur on five separate days at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.  The exact days that blasting will occur have not been determined.  Residents in the area of the project – north of Maryland Ave., west of S. Main St., south of Martin Luther King Way and east of S. High St. – may hear the blast at these times.
