Summer in Reggio Calabria

Summer 2012: June 1 to June 30 (tentative dates)
Benvenuto!
This is a four-week program based in Reggio Calabria, at the Università per Stranieri Dante Alighieri. The program gives students the opportunity to earn JMU credits while living in Calabria, the region whose name means “land that produces beautiful things”.
Reggio Calabria is a beautiful location on the water in the famous Stretto di Messina which separates Italy from Sicily. The seafront that faces Sicily, defined as “the most beautiful kilometer in Italy”, has a breathtaking view of the volcano Etna. The people of Reggio Calabria are very hospitable and kind towards visitors and foreigners.
The University is based in the downtown area of Reggio Calabria, a three-minute walking distance from the Sicily- facing seafront, defined as "the most beautiful kilometer in Italy" by the famous poet Gabriele D'Annunzio, with a breathtaking view of the volcano Etna.

Academic Program
The JMU’s Summer Program in Reggio Calabria is a four-week program in which students who have completed the beginner level of the language, can earn 6 credits by attending classes in language and culture.
