JMU Summer in Berlin

Summer 2010: May 29 to July 10

Program Location

students in berlinOnce the capital of Nazi Germany, and then divided between east and west for nearly three decades, Berlin is now the heart of reunified Germany and a major European crossroads. It is home to 170 museums, 20 theaters, and a diverse musical scene. Berlin is also a highly livable city, with excellent public transportation.

Students will be hosted by the Free University of Berlin (FUBIS). Participants may choose between two different living arrangements: a shared, furnished student apartment near the Free University campus; or a home stay with Berlin host family at an additional cost. The home stay option is particularly recommended for students who would like to master the language and practice their conversation skills in an informal setting.
