Advising

Study Abroad Advising is only part of the information you will need to investigate before you make your decision. Your Academic and Major Advisors should always be consulted in order to be as prepared as possible.

There are three ways to get study abroad information. First, start with a General Information Session to get an idea of all the options available to you. Then, you can either make an advising appointment by calling our main line at: 540.568.6419 or come to the office during walk in hours. The schedules are listed below.

Study Abroad Information Sessions

Information Sessions are designed to provide students with general information about study abroad. This half hour will cover the "big picture". Students will gain an understanding of their program options. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for students to discuss more specific questions about JMU Programs & External/Exchange Programs.

Attendance at an Information Session is required for general information and is an important first step in studying abroad. Space is limited, so call 540-568-6419 to reserve your seat. Please arrive early.

General Information Sessions for Spring 2012

Special Sessions are open to all without an appointment. Times and locations vary. Scheduled dates are:

• Tuesday, January 17- Taylor 404, 3:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, January 18- Taylor 405, 3:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, January 24 - Taylor 404, 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, January 25 - Taylor 405, 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, February 7 - Taylor 404, 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, February 8 - Taylor 405, 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. .

Regular sessions are Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:00-3:30 p.m. by appointment in JMAC 6 Conference Room.
Tentative dates are listed below and subject to change:

• Wednesday, February 15

Space is limited, please plan accordingly.
Information Sessions are offered throughout the fall and spring semesters while classes are in-session.
